Penina Hotel & Golf Resort

The breakfast was for 5 Star Hotel Ok. Anything else — not worth to visit. Absolutely no go for 5 Stars as they promote.

We have chosen this hotel because of 5 Stars advertisement. And we never was so disappointed from the Standard they offered. At the reception the first thing you get ask - —...payment for the whole booking. Okay - there policy. After check-in .. we have entered the room ( 4th floor) Ro.No. 412. First contact to the room. — surprise surprise- Equipment from the 80s best case. ( bathroom was renovated! Musst say. Flatscreen OKAY! Bed —- absolutely no go. Myself 90 kg Plus gf 50 kg. The mattress minimum 20 years old - Even older .. it was not possible to find a flat area. We both found us in pit. (Measurement proves Angle of 35’ slope. Caved-in.. 9 cm. Pictures and video was shown directly to the reception!! With the request to change the mattress!! We where kindly informed from the reception!! Ohh yes .. not acceptable! We will support .. ( Hello ??? 5 Stars ) !! Nothing where had been changed ! Next day — again we have strongly complained with the notification.. it’s not possible to find more then two hours sleep and I need a physiotherapist after such a night. After 3 nights we left .. so disappointed! Moreover!!! The request to talk with the manager was refused because .. Sunday no Management is available! Beside the fact that for 5 Stars and 230.- Euros a night .. we get charged for a bottle of water 4,30.- (From the Room). Avoid this Hotel if you like to find a good sleep and expect 5 Star service! You don’t get this in this Hotel !

The beds were incredibly comfortable!

We had booked a wine/pairing dinner hence decided to stay overnight. It was a nice event but we were both ill that night and the next day. At first we thought we'd had too much wine (a few glasses but I don't think more than anyone else at dinner). We mentioned at checkout feeling a bit rough but we still had mild food poisoning type symptoms the rest of the day and realised it was in fact 'in the stomach' and not a hangover! It was difficult to know what to do but we thought the chef ought to know in case it was bad seafood ? so we reported it to the hotel front desk later on 13th but she wasn't very helpful. It's not a complaint as we didn't ask her to do anything only to tell the chef and to be aware others might report symptoms.

Five star atmosphere, lovely food. Good shuttle bus to the beach

The swimming pool area is great!

The staff at reception was not nice. And the rooms need to be renewed.

Wen I arrive, the room that was reserved to me was very poor ( a two stars hotel dont have a room like that ). I made a complain and they change the room. But I think a 5 Stars Hotel can put a guess in a room like that, and if we go to a Hotel like this one, we never think that we must have to discuss the quality of a room
