Intercontinental Edinburgh The George

Central location, luxurious and relaxing, excellent service and a very good breakfast. All round a very pleasant experience.

The quality of breakfast was very good, but the selection could have been wider. Especially for a poor scandinavian who likes to have course bread, lots of fiber and very little sugar and fat in the morning. But for three days it was a welcome break from the routine.

Overall Good but a few teething problems still nee

Location. Friendly Staff. The new bar/restaurant area looks good however the only downside is the seating area near the bar soon filled up and even though there were empty tables on the lower floor level there seemed to be a reluctance to give these to guests who just wanted a drink.

The reception area is still going through refurbishment which meant long queues soon began to build up when guests began arriving in numbers which was an inconvenience to be honest. No doubt this will be resolved when the work is completed.

Clean and comfortable. Good breakfast.

Got bait and switched. Upon checkin was told that breakfast was included with the prepaid reservation. Great! Upon checkout was informed I owed something like £60 for breakfast. Tried to argue my case but had a train to catch and ended up with a "discount" to £40. Extremely shady. Will let my CC company take care of this.

The whole hotel experience at the George Hotel was completely faultless. The staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming. The rooms were spotless, warm and very comfortable. The breakfasts were delicious. The flight was cancelled on our return and had to stay at the George Hotel an extra night, the staff welcomed us back with mulled wine! Excellent stay, thank you.

The hotel kindly acknowledged our anniversary. All the staff were wonderful.

Lack of parking as public parking very expensive.

bedrooms were very warm even with no heating on. We were unable to open a window due to noise on street. This was a minor complaint.
