Modern facilities in a fabulous setting
Good room. Very friendly and helpful (English speaking) manager. Just 15 minutes drive to the beach at Matalascanas.
Very welcoming and clean rooms. Bathroom well equipped and bed very comfortable. Easy parking and quick access to main road for beach or nature tour.
In the outskirts of the strange town Rocio (10 mins walk to the center). Clean and very nice hotel. Good service and a very friendly staff. Good breakfirst.
Excellent room, friendly and helpful owner who pointed us in the direction of local non touristy activities... Including flamenco at two in the morning. Awesome nature stuff.
Enkel frokost.Ikke lunsjservering, men deilig middag!Hotellverten, som opprinnelig er fra Italia, snakket utmerket engelsk,og var uttrolig hyggelig:) Kunne vært kjøleskap på rommet.
Atmosphere. El Rocio ia a unique place.
The Town El Roico is like straight out of a Wild West movie. If going to Donana don't miss El Rocio, an experience. The hotel was also a very pleasant surprise, classy, beautifully decorated rooms and bathrooms in the centre of town. A nice dining room and parking outside the front door (no charge).
Friendly people, nice place. None
Nicely decorated rooms, very close Donana National Park, 15km only to the ocean. Helpful and English-speaking owners of the hotel. The rooms are quite cold so in the autumn/winter they need some heating, especially when you are out of the shower and also during the night. There is a ventilator you can turn on but impossible to leave it running for the night as it's quite noisy. As a consequence you wake up with cold ears...
Online booking was easy and I was able to make a change to the dates with no problem. Very comfortable rooms, staff extremely helpful and knowledgeable, excellent location. We had dinner in the hotel 2 nights and found the food excellent. Due to to nature of the streets of El Rocio sand gets into the rooms; if a dustpan and brush/broom were provided guests could sweep up the sand tracked in on their shoes. Noise from other guests was a little disruptive at night.
We enjoyed the location, the very elaborate information the manager gave us. She knew to give us nice walks in the Sierra de Aracena as well as in their neighbourhood and the town Seville. Very friendly staff. Acces of Wifi in our room. If you would like to enjoy the peace of the place, check beforehand if there are brotherhoods visiting el Rocio on your weekend out. We experienced that at Saterdaynight they beat drums and play flute in the vicinity of the hotel until 2.00 in the morning.
Could not be better None
Lovely hotel with charming hosts.
The lady that ran the hotel was very welcoming and friendly and helped us with a serious issue that we had encountered. The hotel was situated in the Donana National Park and was a stones throw away from a large lake full of exotic birds and a short drive from the main park and not too far from the beach. The town itself was set up like a wild west town with sandy streets and all the properties had posts for tethering the horses. There was a good selection of bars and restaurants. Although the hotel had some charm it was rather dated and was only a 2 star and not 3 as we had been notified. The breakfast was ok but only consisted of cereals and ham and cheese. The bed was quite small and rather uncomfortable
This little hotel is in a wonderful position, especially for birdwatchers, right beside the marsh in the quirky little town of El Rocio. There are excellent restaurants within walking distance of the hotel and there is easy, free parking right outside the hotel. The hotel is comfortable and the staff are all friendly - the owner speaks flawless English and is knowledgeable about local wildlife. We stayed in the suite which directly overlooks the marsh and is a huge and comfortable room. We were sorry to leave and would gladly go again and recommend the place to others looking for a quiet spot. The cold breakfast buffet was not particularly exciting but 'did what it said on the label'.
The accommdation was quiet (despite it being close to the main road to Metalascanas), comfortable and spacious. It was easy to get to and well located for the local beaches and national park, the church of El Rocio is just across the road, close enough to get to easily but far enough away from the crowds that visit not to impinge on the ambience of the hotel. The children loved the swimming pool which was well maintained with a lifeguard always in attendance, Nice place to stay and a good centre for visiting the local area. The local resturarant is mixed for breakfast but good at other times, there are many other good places to eat offering good value within walking distance. We enjoyed the stay. Hotel reception staff were mixed ranging from excellent to poor, we had a small problem with hot water which took too long to fix despite being reported to the maids and reception. Eventually a receptionist fixed it at 11pm. I speak some Spanish so no problem for me but but non of the staff appear to have any English which could be difficult.
size of apartment too much like a travel lodge
The room decor is lovely and the layout spacious.
Access to the surrounding area , especially Donana . Excellent receptionist , unfortunately I do not recall his name . Limited and insecure parking
Instead of a room there were two bedrooms, a bathroom and a living room so that it was more like a suite. It was furnished with traditional pieces, but still had TV and refrigerator. I loved the two rocking chairs which we moved onto the little patio at the front. The hotel is gradually being added to, so there are some building works hidden behind fencing. The reception, restaurant and other facilities are beautifully decorated with antique and traditional furnishings. The restaurant food was fairly basic, but we had difficulty ordering as the menu was only in Spanish and the waiter had English that was as limited as our Spanish. So it may well have been that we could have had something more satisfying if we could read the menu. (However, this was not the only place in Spain where this was an issue.)
