The staff. Camilla and Lorenzo were knowledgeable, informative, helpful and friendly.
I cannot fault this accomodation. The staff are absolutely fantastic and the decor quirky but stylish. There is a really friendly atmosphere
The room was beautiful and the staff (Camilla) were the most helpful we have ever come across Nothing
The staff were wonderful. The location excellent. The room was lovely, clean and comfortabale. Nothing, enjoyed it all.
I liked the hands on service of the staff and how the place was decorated. I did not like how hard the bed was.
Good sound proofing from outside cars, great breakfast, very friendly staff, much cheaper price than hotels in the inner city (only 25 minute walk away or 10 minutes by bus). My room didn't have an attached bathroom, but it was down the hall and it was my own private bathroom. I think ALL the other rooms did have attached bathrooms though.
The Soggiorno Laura is located very close to the center, the Duomo is only a 10 min. walk. It is a good choice for those travelling on low budget. They do not speak English which caused many issues and our experience was that sometimes they tried to understand our English, but when it was not in their favor they just said 'No capisco', this sentence became very annoying. Also the breakfest is very poor, you cannot really call it breakfest it is rather a morning snack. Be aware that the photos published does not show the reality, rooms are very small as well as the bathroom.
1. Very difficult to find, no sinificant indication. 2. Room is diffrent from the photo listed in the booking.com 3. Breakfast is very simple. 4. Hotel staff cannot speak English at all.
The location is good, even if you are in Florence by car - a parking lot is about 500 m away, the walk to Duomo - about 15 minutes. The staff don't talk English, but we could practice our poor Italian :) It is quite impossible to find the place - we walked up and down via Cavour couple of times until we noticed a tiny plate, about size of a credit card with name on it. The rooms are very, very small and dark, too. Our bathroom was unbelievably small - it was even difficult to turn around there.
within walking distance to everything worth seeing, a nice quiet street, with plenty of food places around.
the feeling of having a genuine Italian experience, living in an old stone building continental breakfast included cold toast and store -bought crossiants, juice, coffee or tea
The location is good. The terrace outside is a good place to eat take out food. Bath is very small. Walls are paper thin so it can be bad if you have noisy neighbor (like we did!). We cannot use the kitchen even though there is one for the students staying there. WiFi is free for the first hour but have to pay 2 Euro for each additional.
Cleanliness of the rooms The fact that there were mosquitos in the room & we were not told how to deal with them!
The lounge is a nice way to socialize with fellow travelers shower facilities in a double room were rather cramped
The staff. They were really kind. The hotel is a little bit far from the train station, and I did not find this information in the site. So, I think that it is necessary to indicate a bus to go to the hotel.
location in the middle of the town
Right in the middle of Florence, friendly staff, clean, good value for money. Simple breakfast and no regular reception service, but then it is a B&B. It was nice to drop by the room in between all site seeing and sit on the balcony with a cup of coffee (from the free machine in the breakfast room) on the balcony over the head of all tourists rushing from accademia to uffici. We had ordered a four man room but got to double rooms for the same price. We would stay there again because of centrality.
Location, Location, Location I was asked to pay cash when I had already provided my credit card details at the time of booking. On the second day when I insisted that I wanted to use my credit card the owner/manager was surly for the rest of our stay.
Staff/owner is nice; very helpful. There is one person managing the hotel. He tries to do everything to make your stay wonderful. Location is excellent. City center. Also, tea and coffee is available any time. Very comfortable for sightseeing trips. But hotel facilities are really poor. Several things:1. Breakfast is not acceptable. Its written that hotel offers "buffet breakfast". Reality: there will be 10 yoghurts bought by owner in "Spar" shop the night before, croissants in plastic bags, tea and coffee.nobody cleans tables until the breakfast is ended..If you come to breakfast later than other guests you will not get even yoghurt, as 10 yoghurt will be gone, and you will not have clean spoon or cup.... We . 2. LOTs of noise from the street. Was difficult to sleep at night because of machines cleaning trash. 3.No internet in the rooms, only in the hall. 4.No reception. If owner is there - he will help. If he is not there - there is noone to ask about anything. But overall, central location compensates for 1,2,3, 4 above
the closeness to the center, design of the room N/A
Free coffee, tea and water with internet point opens 24/7. High Ceiling, private balcony for certain rooms - great to take a cup of coffee at the private balcony, watching people walking by the Repubblica Plaza downstair between Uffize and the Academy. Lift to reach the B&B, no concern for carrying suitcases. Marco, the owner, and Ena are both very nice. Shower place is small. I spend only 15 minutes for a shower and it doesn't bother me. On my arrival to the Repubblica Plaza, it took me a bit time to locate the building's entrance, which is right next to the restaurants.
The B&B is ok, the location is perfect just less than 10 minutes walk from Firenze SMN station, and the city centre. The guys (Matteo and Alessio) are very friendly and helpfull, they share all the informations about the city.
Clean room, friendly behaviour and hospitality very poor breakfast, noisy beacuse is on a central road
The location was pleasant. The boarding house is a penthouse on top of an apartment house in vicinity of main station and city centre. It is cosy and pleasant and Matteo and Allessio are very nice and helpful. The neighbourhood is quite noisy, even during night time (which seems to be normal for Italy). Breakfast is very poor and cannot be considered as such.
Nice rooms Very poor breakfast
Wonderful place! Very polite and helpful owners. Beautiful terrace! A really good hotel to stay even for many days.
The location is great, staff were helpful and the breakfast room was lovely.
Central location and such a spacious room - we loved it! Staff, too were wonderful - friendly and helpful. We'd definitely stay there again.
Big special rooms with quiet and very good location.
This was at one time a small palace. Each room had a different planet theme. The rooms were very clean, bathrooms were large and each room had a different scent that was sprayed in the room. The breakfast is served in the original kitchen. The staff is very friendly and helpful, especially the owner. This hotel is within a 10-20 minute walking distance to most shopping and sites.
Beautiful rooms, very well kept, you really feel like staying in an Italian city palace, hideaway from the bussle of Florence, helpful staff, great tips on where to go and dine Just a tip: from the bookings website, we didnt realize it would be this gorgeous...
spacious room, friendly staff. quite different from the pictures on the web page, a little misleading. There is no lift, no staff available from 6 pm.
This has an excellent location from check in to check out hotel & staff were fantastic had read some poor reviews on amother site and these are totally unjustified. We would have no hesitation in staying here again & again.
I have stayed twice. To me this hotel conveys a real feeling and appreciation of the beauty and taste and Florence. Also, the location is excellent. The hotel is small and has limited desk duty. This can be a problem if you are arriving or leaving late. They leave the desk at 19:00.
Historic setting in central location Unfriendly breakfast service
