Caracas is a large, complicated city that can quickly overtake you with its intensity and life. But if you learn a bit about the area: the people, the places and the precautions you need to take, you will have many enjoyable moments during your short or long stay.
In the Venezuelan capital there are many worthwhile restaurants, parks, museums, clubs, shops and other interesting attractions, such as the Bolivar home and museum and Eastern Park where you can find a recreation of Christopher Columbus' famous ship, the Santa Maria. Caracas, with its life, crowds and vigor, is a good contrast to the many sights outside of the city: beautiful islands and colorful beaches and small, antiquated villages high up in the mountains.
