Over the years, La Te Da has evolved into one of the most sophisticated venues in Key West. It offers great Entertainment, gourmet food, beautifully appointed rooms and exciting bars, all cared for by a warm and courteous Staff.
The main house was constructed in 1893 by wealthy cigar manufacturer, Teodoro Perez, as his private residence, however it was the Cuban Revolutionary: Jose Marti’s fiery speeches delivered from the balcony for Cuban Independence that created the history. The balcony became famous as La Terraza de Marti and, over time, from that name emerged the nickname “La Te Da”.
Now, this balcony is available every day for guests to watch people do the “Duval Crawl”, and for the wild revelry of the Fantasy Fest Parade in October. More that the balcony is exciting at La Te Da in the 21st Century. It also offers a renowned gourmet restaurant and a variety of entertainment room for every taste. The property houses a collection of Picassos, 15th Century Spanish statues and a silk tapestry commemorating the visit of English King George V to India in 1907.
The hotel guest rooms are each different, yet all reflect the casual charm of the American tropics. Most guests choose to dine at the Restaurant at La Te Da. The chef’s approach to food preparation is wonderful, and beautifully presented in a romantic atmosphere by a most congenial staff.
Take a step back in time and experience the history of Key West and live the adventure of the most sophisticated entertainment, accommodations and dining on the island, La Te Da.
