Beijing Capital International Airport is located 18 miles northeast of Beijing. Beijing International Airport is a medium-size, busy facility. Even so, the terminal halls are very easy to navigate and information booths are located throughout the airport to assist passengers with gates. Several airlines operate from the airport, and passengers can enjoy flights to many domestic and international destinations, which include a host of non-stop flights. Airline carriers that operate from Beijing International Airport include Air China, Southern Airlines, Hainan Airlines, and more.
Beijing International Airport features two terminal halls: Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. Both terminals include a wide range of passenger amenities such as smoking room, business center (computer, wireless Internet, meeting rooms, fax machine, and photocopying), and 24 hour on-site medical clinic. There is a nice selection of restaurants, which serve familiar American-style cuisines and authentic Chinese dishes. To assist with terminal transfers, airport shuttle buses operate continuously and pick-up and drop-off guest between terminal halls. Other services available to guests include VIP lounge rooms, banks, currency exchange, post office, and retail shops.
Directions
Proceed east from Downtown and take the second ring road. Exit at Airport Expressway. Follow signs to terminal halls.
Terminal 1
Terminal 1 features baggage claim, security checkpoints, check-in, ticket counters, and a host of restaurants and retail shops. Both arrival and departure flights leave Terminal 1. Airport shuttle buses are located outside the terminal hall, and provide free transfer service to Terminal 2. This terminal hall also contains a full-service business center, smoking lounge, and 24-hour medical center.
Terminal 2
Terminal 2 is located opposite Terminal 1 and contains security checkpoints, check-in, ticket counters, ground transportation, and baggage claim. Several eateries and retail shops operate inside this terminal hall, and bus services provide continuous service to Terminal 1. Other features of Terminal 2 include changing room, smoking lounge, and business center.
